Capstone Commercial Decision

For our HRM job app, my team and I recently faced the challenge of selecting the right commercial to introduce our product to the world. After considering a few options, we ultimately decided to go with my video, and here’s how we got there.

We wanted a video that not only captured the app’s core features but also conveyed the heart behind why we built it. In today’s crowded HR tech space, an app can easily get lost in the shuffle if it doesn’t stand out. I pitched the idea that our commercial should focus on the real frustrations both job applicants and recruiters face—and how our app alleviates those pain points. This idea resonated with the team, especially since our app was designed to streamline the process for both parties, reducing the endless cycles of form-filling, waiting, and unclear communication that typically come with job applications.

When it came time to review the videos, we looked for one that was simple, direct, and relatable. My video centered on an applicant’s journey—showing how our platform helps them not just apply but also track progress, communicate effectively, and feel more in control of the process. It struck the right balance between professional and personable, which was important because we wanted to emphasize that this wasn’t just another HR tool—it was one built by a team that understood what users needed.

The team’s feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we all felt confident that this video represented the essence of our product. Seeing it come to life was a proud moment for all of us.
